Clear parking signs help drivers understand where they can park, which spaces are reserved and what restrictions apply before they leave their vehicle.
Our range of car park signs includes No Parking, Visitor Parking, Customer Parking, Disabled Parking, Reserved Parking, private parking and directional signs for businesses, workplaces, residential developments, shops, warehouses and private property.
Made in Britain, Safety Sheep parking signs are available in a choice of sizes and durable materials for car parks, parking bays, entrances, gates and other indoor and outdoor locations.
Car Park Signs for Businesses
Well-planned car park signage can make business premises easier and safer for employees, customers, visitors, contractors and delivery drivers to navigate.
Signs can identify customer and visitor spaces, reserve bays for particular users, communicate parking restrictions and direct drivers towards entrances, exits and designated parking areas.
Choose messages that accurately reflect how your car park operates and position signs where drivers have enough time to see and understand them.
No Parking Signs
No Parking signs clearly communicate locations where vehicles should not be left.
They can be useful around entrances, gates, loading areas, access roads, service yards and other locations where parked vehicles could cause an obstruction or interfere with normal site operations.
Choose wording appropriate to the restriction and position signs where they are clearly visible before a driver decides to park.
Visitor Parking Signs
Visitor Parking signs help guests identify designated spaces when arriving at offices, factories, warehouses, schools, healthcare premises and other workplaces.
Clearly identifying visitor bays can reduce confusion and help prevent visitors from accidentally occupying staff, customer or reserved parking spaces.
Where visitors also need to report to reception, additional directional or visitor instruction signs can help guide them from the parking area into the premises.
Customer Parking Signs
Customer Parking signs help businesses reserve spaces for people using their premises.
They are particularly useful for shops, retail premises, hospitality businesses, offices and other customer-facing locations where parking spaces may otherwise be used by unauthorised vehicles.
Position signs so drivers can clearly identify which bays or areas are intended for customers.
Disabled & Accessible Parking Signs
Disabled and accessible parking signs help clearly identify designated parking spaces for people who need accessible parking.
Signs can be used alongside appropriate bay markings and other site measures to make designated spaces easier for drivers to identify.
Position signs where they remain visible when vehicles are parked and where drivers can recognise the designated bay while approaching it.
Reserved Parking Signs
Reserved Parking signs identify spaces allocated to particular people, roles or vehicle types.
They can be used for staff, management, visitors, residents, permit holders, customers, company vehicles and other designated users.
Clear wording helps reduce misunderstandings about who may use the space.
Private Parking Signs
Private parking signs help landowners and businesses communicate that a parking area is privately managed and explain who is permitted to use it.
They can be used at offices, residential developments, private roads, commercial premises, farms and other privately owned land.
If formal parking terms, charges or enforcement arrangements apply, the signage needs to accurately reflect those arrangements. A general parking sign does not by itself create a right to issue parking charges or take enforcement action.
EV Parking Signs
EV parking signs help identify spaces intended for electric vehicles and charging.
Clear signage can distinguish charging bays from ordinary parking spaces and help discourage vehicles from occupying spaces intended for EV charging.
Choose wording that reflects the actual restriction, such as whether the bay is reserved for electric vehicles generally or specifically for vehicles while charging.
Parking Direction & Bay Signs
Directional parking signs help drivers find entrances, exits and designated parking areas, while bay signs identify who individual spaces are intended for.
These can be particularly useful on larger business premises, industrial estates, schools, healthcare sites and other locations where visitors may be unfamiliar with the layout.
A combination of entrance, directional and bay-specific signage is often clearer than relying on a single general parking notice.
Where Should Parking Signs Be Positioned?
Position parking signs where drivers naturally need to make decisions.
Depending on the layout, useful locations can include:
- Car park entrances
- Individual parking bays
- Walls or posts facing approaching vehicles
- Gates and access roads
- Entrances and exits
- Loading and delivery areas
- Turning areas
- Pedestrian and vehicle junctions
- EV charging bays
- Visitor and customer parking areas
Consider the direction vehicles approach from, viewing distance, lighting and whether parked vehicles could obscure the sign.
Choosing the Right Size Parking Sign
The appropriate size depends on where the sign will be positioned and how far away drivers need to read it.
A smaller sign may be suitable immediately in front of an individual parking bay, while entrances and larger car parks may require bigger signs that can be recognised from a moving vehicle.
Always consider the actual viewing conditions rather than selecting a sign size solely according to the available mounting space.
Choosing Parking Signs for Outdoor Use
Most car park signs are exposed to the weather, so material choice is important.
Consider the mounting surface, exposure to rain and sunlight, expected lifespan and whether the sign will be installed on a wall, fence, gate or post.
For long-term outdoor installations, a durable rigid material is generally preferable to a material intended for short-term or sheltered applications.
Made in Britain Parking Signs
Safety Sheep parking signs are manufactured in Britain and available in a wide range of messages, sizes and materials for businesses, workplaces and private property.
Whether you need one sign to identify a reserved bay or parking signage for an entire site, choose signs that clearly communicate how each area should be used.
Parking Signs FAQs
What parking signs do I need for my business?
The signs you need depend on how your parking area is used. Common examples include Customer Parking, Visitor Parking, Staff Parking, Disabled Parking, Reserved Parking, No Parking, Keep Clear and directional signs.
Start by identifying who uses the car park, which spaces need to be reserved and where parking could cause an obstruction or safety problem.
Where should parking signs be displayed?
Parking signs should be positioned where drivers can see and understand them before making a parking decision.
Typical locations include car park entrances, individual bays, gates, access roads, walls and posts facing approaching vehicles.
What size parking sign do I need?
Choose a size according to viewing distance and vehicle approach. Signs immediately beside individual bays can often be smaller than signs at car park entrances or locations where they need to be read from a moving vehicle.
Can I use parking signs on private property?
Yes. Parking signs can be used on private land to identify bays, communicate restrictions and tell drivers how a parking area is intended to be used.
If formal parking terms or charges apply, appropriate signage should accurately explain those arrangements.
What signs should I use for an EV charging bay?
Use signage that accurately describes how the space is intended to be used. Depending on the site, this might identify an EV parking bay or state that the space is reserved for electric vehicles while charging.
