Best For
The 47 Sign Construction Safety Pack is particularly suited to:
-
Larger construction sites
-
Main contractors
-
Building contractors
-
New site set-up
-
Projects with several work areas
-
Sites with multiple entrances
-
Contractors operating several projects
-
Keeping replacement safety signs in stock
Why Choose a 47-Sign Construction Pack?
Larger construction projects can require safety information at numerous locations.
You may need signs at:
-
Main site entrances
-
Pedestrian entrances
-
Site boundaries
-
Work areas
-
Vehicle routes
-
Site offices
-
Fire points
-
First-aid facilities
-
Assembly areas
A larger pack provides more flexibility than a small starter bundle and can reduce the need to order commonly used construction signs individually.
A Large Pack for Larger Construction Sites
The advantage of a 47-sign pack isn't simply the number of signs.
A larger site may need the same message in several locations.
For example, PPE requirements may need to be communicated at more than one entrance, while access restrictions and hazard warnings may be required at different points around the site.
Having multiple individual signs allows site managers to position information closer to where it's actually needed.
Useful for Multi-Site Contractors
Pack G can also be useful for contractors operating more than one construction project.
Signs that aren't immediately required on one site can be retained as stock for:
-
Future projects
-
Replacement signage
-
Additional work areas
-
New access points
-
Changing project phases
This can make a large sign pack a practical purchasing option even when all 47 signs aren't required at the same time.
Construction Site Entrance Signs
Construction site entrances are an important location for safety information.
Depending on the contents of Pack G and the arrangements for your site, signage may communicate:
-
Site hazards
-
Access restrictions
-
Visitor instructions
-
PPE requirements
-
Site rules
Position entrance signage so workers, visitors and contractors can see relevant instructions before entering the operational area.
PPE Signs
Where personal protective equipment is required, PPE signage can reinforce requirements for equipment such as:
-
Safety helmets
-
High-visibility clothing
-
Safety footwear
-
Eye protection
-
Hearing protection
-
Protective gloves
-
Respiratory protection
Only display PPE instructions that genuinely apply to the relevant area.
Hazard & Warning Signs
Construction projects can involve changing hazards as work progresses.
Depending on the pack contents and project, warning signs may relate to hazards such as:
-
Excavations
-
Moving vehicles
-
Electrical hazards
-
Overhead hazards
-
Machinery
-
Other construction activities
Project-specific hazards may require additional signs not included in Pack G.
Access & Keep Out Signs
Controlling access is particularly important where construction work could expose workers, visitors or members of the public to risk.
Access signage may include messages such as:
-
Construction Site Keep Out
-
No Unauthorised Access
-
Visitors Must Report to Site Office
Use signs alongside appropriate physical site-security and access-control measures.
A sign by itself does not secure a construction site.
Fire Safety Signs
Construction projects need appropriate fire-safety arrangements throughout the work.
Where included and relevant, Pack G signage may help identify:
-
Fire exits
-
Fire points
-
Firefighting equipment
-
Fire action information
-
Assembly points
Fire arrangements may change as construction progresses, so signage should be reviewed as escape routes and site layouts change.
First Aid & Emergency Signs
Signs can help workers, contractors and visitors locate first-aid facilities and emergency information.
Position relevant signs where they can be clearly seen and correspond with the site's actual first-aid and emergency arrangements.
Where Should the 47 Signs Be Displayed?
Don't display all 47 signs together simply because they were purchased as one pack.
Position each sign where its particular information is required.
For example:
Main entrance
General site rules, access and PPE requirements.
Pedestrian entrance
Visitor and PPE instructions.
Site perimeter
Keep Out and appropriate warning signs.
Individual work areas
Hazard-specific and PPE signage.
Vehicle routes
Traffic and pedestrian information.
Fire points
Relevant fire-equipment signs.
First-aid facilities
First Aid signs.
Designated assembly area
Assembly Point signage where appropriate.
The objective is to communicate the right information at the right location.
Does Pack G Contain Every Sign My Construction Site Needs?
Not necessarily.
Even a large 47-sign pack cannot anticipate every hazard and arrangement on every construction project.
The appropriate signage depends on factors including:
-
Site risk assessments
-
Work activities
-
Site layout
-
Access arrangements
-
PPE requirements
-
Vehicle and pedestrian movements
-
Fire arrangements
-
First-aid provision
-
Specialist hazards
-
Contractors and visitors
-
Risks to members of the public
Pack G provides a broad selection of commonly used construction signs, but additional signage may be needed for the individual project.
Additional Specialist Signs
Depending on your project, you may need additional signs relating to:
-
Asbestos
-
Confined spaces
-
Deep excavations
-
Electrical hazards
-
Overhead cables
-
Underground services
-
Demolition
-
Hazardous substances
-
Specialist PPE
-
Traffic management
-
Lifting operations
Select additional signage according to the hazards and working arrangements of the site.
Construction Sign Pack or Site Safety Board?
A Construction Sign Pack provides individual signs that can be positioned around the site.
A Site Safety Board combines several important messages on one larger panel, typically for a main entrance.
Larger projects can benefit from both.
A Site Safety Board can communicate key entrance rules, while individual Pack G signs can be positioned around the project where specific instructions and warnings are required.
Construction Sign Pack or Site Safety Banner?
Site Safety Banners provide large-format messages suitable for fencing, hoardings and site boundaries.
Pack G provides individual signs for specific locations.
For a larger construction project, consider using:
Site Safety Board – main entrance
Site Safety Banners – perimeter and fencing
Construction Safety Signs – individual work areas and hazards
This creates a more complete site-signage system than relying on one format alone.
Review Your Construction Signs as Work Progresses
Construction sites change rapidly.
As the project develops:
-
Entrances can move
-
Vehicle routes can change
-
New hazards can appear
-
Old hazards can disappear
-
PPE requirements can change
-
Fire escape routes can change
-
Contractors can change
-
Work areas can move
Review signage regularly and reposition, replace or remove signs where necessary.
Can Unused Signs Be Kept for Future Projects?
Where signs remain suitable, undamaged and relevant, unused signs can be retained for future use.
This can make a larger pack particularly useful for regular contractors.
However, don't display a sign simply because it is available.
Every instruction and warning should correspond with the actual requirements and hazards at the location where it is displayed.
Why Choose Pack G?

-

-
Useful for larger projects
-
Suitable for multi-site contractors

UK Health & Safety Regulations
The Health and Safety at Work Act (HSWA) 1974 is a foundational law in the UK for workplace health and safety. It outlines the general duties of various parties to ensure a safe work environment. Here's a quick summary: Duty of Employers: Employers must provide a safe workplace, ensure the health, safety and welfare of their employees and anyone else on the premises (visitors, contractors etc.). This includes providing adequate training, information, and supervision. Employee Duties: Employees have a duty to take care of their own health and safety and that of others around them. This includes following safety procedures and using equipment properly. Other Duties: The Act also places duties on those responsible for premises, manufacturers of equipment used at work, and the self-employed. Safety signage is one way employers can fulfill their duty to inform and instruct employees. Signs can warn of hazards, provide instructions for safe use of equipment, and delineate emergency exits. While HSWA outlines general principles, specific regulations and Approved Codes of Practice (ACOPs) provide more detailed guidance on workplace health and safety practices. For up-to-date information, you can refer to the Health and Safety Executive (HSE) website https://www.gov.uk/health-and-safety-executive.

Sign Materials Guide
Choosing the right material for your safety signs is crucial for ensuring their effectiveness and durability. We proudly manufacture all our signs in Britain. Let us guide you in selecting the most suitable material for your signs.
Self-adhesive stickers
Self-adhesive stickers are ideal for indoor usage. We use superior-quality Metamark digital vinyl, which is a durable and flexible material with an adhesive backing. Prior to applying the sticker, ensure that the surface is flat, smooth, and clean. While the vinyl is waterproof, we do not recommend outdoor usage unless the surface is deemed appropriate. It is important to note that vinyl stickers do not stick to wood, rendered, wood chip, brick or stone walls, concrete, or similar surfaces. In such cases, we suggest considering alternative materials such as recycled plastic or composite aluminium. Please be aware that Self-adhesive stickers, such as Dulux Easycare Matt Emulsion paint, will not adhere to newly formulated washable, "wipe clean" painted surfaces. If you have any uncertainties or inquiries, feel free to ask us. Additionally, we advise against attempting to independently apply Self-adhesive stickers larger than A4 size, as it may be more challenging than anticipated.
Recyclable Plastic
Introducing Polyline Bubble Board, the latest innovation in the sign industry, made from 100% recyclable polypropylene. Manufactured in the EU by Pyramid, this eco-friendly material offers an impressive strength-to-weight ratio, with a smooth, flute-free surface—unlike Correx.
The Bubble Board features a fire-retardant (FR) black core, making it an ideal choice for projects that require enhanced safety measures. Suitable for both indoor and outdoor use, it is UV-treated for excellent weather resistance, and its scratch-resistant surface outperforms traditional Foamex. Fully recyclable through the No.5 waste stream, Bubble Board is a sustainable and reliable option for UK safety signage.
Rigid Plastic
Rigid Plastic Signs are commonly used for safety signs due to their durability and lightweight design. Our Plastic 1mm option is lightweight and durable, providing waterproof qualities. It is suitable for both indoor and outdoor use. Fixing holes can be drilled in the plastic at no additional cost.
We take pride in being the inaugural online sign manufacturer in the UK to present our complete product line of health and safety signs and general signage in 50% recycled plastic. Our new 3mm waterproof recycled plastic, which is bright white in colour, is suitable for both indoor and outdoor use and is more eco-friendly compared to traditional rigid plastic. It possesses the same surface qualities as rigid and foamed plastic but incorporates a lighter recycled foam PVC centre. Furthermore, this material is 100% recyclable and offers an exceptional printing surface for various signage applications. You have the option to drill fixing holes or use foam adhesive pads on the back for mounting the signs.
Aluminium Composite
Our Metal Signs, constructed from Aluminium Composite (Dibond Signs), are specifically crafted for outdoor usage. The aluminium composite consists of a non-aluminium core bonded between two thin sheets, resulting in a sturdy and weather-resistant sign. We utilize 3mm thick composite aluminium, sourced from ALUPANEL in Britain. This material is produced from at least 80% recycled materials and is completely recyclable. It can be easily drilled to install holes, and we provide pre-drilled holes upon request at no extra cost. Dibond signs are well-known for their durability and long lifespan, making them a fantastic option for outdoor signage.
Foamex
Foamed Plastic Signs, or Foamex, are a popular choice for temporary construction site safety boards. This material is durable yet lightweight, weatherproof, and specifically designed for outdoor signage. Our foamex is 3mm thick and has a white matte finish.
Correx
Fluted Polypropylene, also known as Correx, is designed for temporary signage, especially in the construction industry. It offers a cost-effective and lightweight solution for short-term signage needs.
Banners
Here are the details about our banner options:
Standard and Premium Banner Materials
We offer a standard 440gsm PVC Banner, which is lightweight, weather-resistant, flame-resistant, and has a gloss finish. It is suitable for indoor and short-term outdoor use.
- Our Premium 510gsm Extra-Strong PVC Banner is designed for higher tear resistance and durability. It is weather-resistant, suitable for indoor and long-term outdoor use, and meets UK and European fire safety standards. It has a satin finish.
Mesh Banner Material
- The 260gsm MESH Banner is perfect for windy areas, as its perforated design allows wind and some light to pass through, preventing ripping.
All our banners are printed with high-quality, eco-friendly UV inks. They are hemmed and eyelet for easy fixing, and cable ties are provided at no extra charge.

Frequently Asked Questions About Construction Site Signs
What are the required safety signs for a UK construction site?
Under Health and Safety Executive (HSE) guidelines and the Construction (Design and Management) Regulations (CDM 2015), building sites must prominently display a mix of mandatory signs (e.g., "PPE Must Be Worn"), prohibition signs ("No Unauthorised Access"), hazard warnings ("Danger Construction Site"), and clear fire exit route markers. Our multi-message site safety boards combine all these necessary warnings onto a single layout.
Which sign material is best for temporary scaffolding and building sites?
For temporary construction environments, Fluted Polypropylene (Correx) and Foamed Plastic (Foamex) are highly recommended. Correx is incredibly lightweight, waterproof, and easily attached to scaffolding grids or fencing using cable ties. For longer-term development projects or hoarding displays, we suggest upgrading to rigid plastic or durable aluminium composite (dibond) panels.
Do you offer bulk trade pricing for large construction projects?
Yes, we specialise in supplying trade accounts and major contractors across the UK. The Safety Sheep Store offers bulk trade discounts of up to 35% on multi-packs and volume orders. All our building site signs are proudly manufactured in our Yorkshire facility, allowing us to pass direct factory savings straight to your project budget.
