Best For
Our 47 Sign Construction Safety Pack can be particularly useful for:
-
Larger construction sites
-
New site set-up
-
Main contractors
-
Building contractors
-
Companies operating multiple projects
-
Refurbishing or replacing existing site signage
-
Keeping replacement signs available
-
Contractors wanting a broad stock of commonly used safety signs
Why Choose a 47-Sign Construction Pack?
Larger construction projects can require safety messages in many different locations.
Rather than purchasing dozens of signs individually, Pack G provides 47 signs in one convenient bundle.
A larger pack can also provide duplicate signs for different areas of the site and useful replacements if signage becomes damaged, dirty or needs relocating as the project develops.
For contractors operating several sites, signs not immediately required on one project can also be retained for future use where appropriate.
A Broad Selection for Construction Sites
Depending on the exact contents of Pack G, your signs may cover areas such as:
-
Site access
-
PPE requirements
-
Construction hazards
-
Mandatory instructions
-
Prohibition
-
Fire safety
-
First aid
-
Assembly points
-
Vehicle movements
-
Site facilities
This makes a large construction pack particularly useful during initial site set-up.
Always check the exact contents above rather than assuming a particular sign is included.
Construction Site Entrance Signage
The entrance to a construction site is one of the most important places for safety information.
Depending on your site's arrangements, relevant messages may include:
-
Construction Site Keep Out
-
No Unauthorised Access
-
Visitors Must Report to Site Office
-
Safety Helmets Must Be Worn
-
High Visibility Clothing Must Be Worn
-
Safety Footwear Must Be Worn
Where several requirements apply from the same point, a Site Safety Board can also provide a useful combined message at the main entrance.
Individual signs from Pack G can then be positioned throughout the site where their particular messages apply.
PPE Signs
Construction projects may require different personal protective equipment according to the work taking place.
PPE signage can communicate requirements for equipment such as:
-
Safety helmets
-
High-visibility clothing
-
Safety footwear
-
Eye protection
-
Hearing protection
-
Protective gloves
-
Respiratory protection
Site-wide requirements can be communicated at relevant entrances.
Additional PPE requirements should be displayed where they apply rather than implying that every instruction applies throughout the entire site.
Hazard & Warning Signs
As a project develops, different hazards can arise in different locations.
These may include:
-
Excavations
-
Electrical hazards
-
Moving vehicles
-
Overhead hazards
-
Demolition work
-
Machinery
-
Other construction activities
Position warning signs close to the relevant hazard and review them as the project changes.
Fire & Emergency Signage
Construction sites also need appropriate arrangements for emergencies.
Depending on the project and the contents of the pack, relevant signage may include:
-
Fire Exit Signs
-
Fire Extinguisher Signs
-
Fire Action Notices
-
Assembly Point Signs
-
First Aid Signs
Fire and emergency arrangements can change considerably during a construction project, so signage should be reviewed as escape routes, fire points and site layouts change.
Why Larger Sites May Need Duplicate Signs
One advantage of a 47-sign pack is the potential availability of duplicate signs.
A large site may have:
-
Several entrances
-
Multiple floors
-
Different work zones
-
More than one fire point
-
Several pedestrian routes
-
Multiple hazardous areas
A single sign at the main gate may not adequately communicate information elsewhere on the project.
Where the same requirement applies at several locations, additional signs can make the instruction visible at the appropriate points.
Keep Spare Construction Signs Available
Construction environments can be demanding.
Signs may become:
-
Damaged
-
Dirty
-
Lost
-
Obscured
-
Relocated
-
No longer relevant
Keeping spare commonly used signage available can make it easier to replace damaged signs or respond when the site layout changes.
This can make a larger construction pack particularly useful for contractors working on long-term or multiple projects.
Where Should the Signs Be Displayed?
Don't simply display all 47 signs together.
Each sign should be positioned where its particular instruction, warning or information is relevant.
For example:
Site entrance
Access restrictions and general PPE requirements.
Site perimeter
Keep Out and appropriate warning signs.
Work areas
Hazard-specific and additional PPE signs.
Vehicle routes
Traffic and pedestrian information.
Fire points
Fire equipment signage.
Escape routes
Appropriate Fire Exit signs.
First-aid facilities
First Aid signs.
Assembly area
Assembly Point signage.
The aim is to put the right sign in the right location.
Does Pack G Include Every Sign My Construction Site Needs?
Not necessarily.
Every construction project is different, and there isn't one universal set of signs suitable for every UK construction site.
The signage needed depends on factors including:
-
Site risk assessments
-
Work activities
-
Hazards
-
Site layout
-
Access arrangements
-
PPE requirements
-
Vehicle and pedestrian movements
-
Fire arrangements
-
First-aid provision
-
Contractors and visitors
-
Risks to members of the public
Pack G provides a broad selection of construction safety signage, but additional signs may be required for hazards or arrangements specific to your project.
Specialist Signs You May Need Separately
Depending on the work taking place, additional signage could be required for:
-
Asbestos
-
Confined spaces
-
Deep excavations
-
Demolition
-
Electrical hazards
-
Overhead cables
-
Underground services
-
Hazardous substances
-
Specialist PPE
-
Traffic management
-
Lifting operations
Choose additional signs according to the actual risks and arrangements on the site.
Construction Sign Packs & UK Safety Requirements
UK health and safety requirements focus on identifying and controlling risks.
Safety signs should be used where appropriate to communicate significant residual risks and necessary safety information after other relevant measures have been considered.
Construction signage forms part of wider site safety arrangements and doesn't replace controls such as:
-
Site security
-
Barriers
-
Edge protection
-
PPE provision
-
Traffic management
-
Training
-
Supervision
-
Safe systems of work
-
Emergency arrangements
A construction sign pack should therefore be treated as a convenient signage solution rather than a substitute for site-specific risk assessment and safety management.
Construction Signs & BS EN ISO 7010
Many construction safety signs use recognised graphical symbols standardised by BS EN ISO 7010.
These symbols help provide consistent visual communication for warnings, prohibitions, mandatory instructions and emergency information.
BS EN ISO 7010 is a safety-symbol standard rather than UK construction legislation itself.
The signage still needs to be appropriate to the hazards and arrangements on the individual project.
47-Sign Pack or Smaller Construction Pack?
Pack G is likely to be most useful where you need a broad selection of construction signage.

Choose the pack based on the signs you'll actually use rather than simply selecting the pack with the highest number.

UK Health & Safety Regulations
The Health and Safety at Work Act (HSWA) 1974 is a foundational law in the UK for workplace health and safety. It outlines the general duties of various parties to ensure a safe work environment. Here's a quick summary: Duty of Employers: Employers must provide a safe workplace, ensure the health, safety and welfare of their employees and anyone else on the premises (visitors, contractors etc.). This includes providing adequate training, information, and supervision. Employee Duties: Employees have a duty to take care of their own health and safety and that of others around them. This includes following safety procedures and using equipment properly. Other Duties: The Act also places duties on those responsible for premises, manufacturers of equipment used at work, and the self-employed. Safety signage is one way employers can fulfill their duty to inform and instruct employees. Signs can warn of hazards, provide instructions for safe use of equipment, and delineate emergency exits. While HSWA outlines general principles, specific regulations and Approved Codes of Practice (ACOPs) provide more detailed guidance on workplace health and safety practices. For up-to-date information, you can refer to the Health and Safety Executive (HSE) website https://www.gov.uk/health-and-safety-executive.

Sign Materials Guide
Choosing the right material for your safety signs is crucial for ensuring their effectiveness and durability. We proudly manufacture all our signs in Britain. Let us guide you in selecting the most suitable material for your signs.
Self-adhesive stickers
Self-adhesive stickers are ideal for indoor usage. We use superior-quality Metamark digital vinyl, which is a durable and flexible material with an adhesive backing. Prior to applying the sticker, ensure that the surface is flat, smooth, and clean. While the vinyl is waterproof, we do not recommend outdoor usage unless the surface is deemed appropriate. It is important to note that vinyl stickers do not stick to wood, rendered, wood chip, brick or stone walls, concrete, or similar surfaces. In such cases, we suggest considering alternative materials such as recycled plastic or composite aluminium. Please be aware that Self-adhesive stickers, such as Dulux Easycare Matt Emulsion paint, will not adhere to newly formulated washable, "wipe clean" painted surfaces. If you have any uncertainties or inquiries, feel free to ask us. Additionally, we advise against attempting to independently apply Self-adhesive stickers larger than A4 size, as it may be more challenging than anticipated.
Recyclable Plastic
Introducing Polyline Bubble Board, the latest innovation in the sign industry, made from 100% recyclable polypropylene. Manufactured in the EU by Pyramid, this eco-friendly material offers an impressive strength-to-weight ratio, with a smooth, flute-free surface—unlike Correx.
The Bubble Board features a fire-retardant (FR) black core, making it an ideal choice for projects that require enhanced safety measures. Suitable for both indoor and outdoor use, it is UV-treated for excellent weather resistance, and its scratch-resistant surface outperforms traditional Foamex. Fully recyclable through the No.5 waste stream, Bubble Board is a sustainable and reliable option for UK safety signage.
Rigid Plastic
Rigid Plastic Signs are commonly used for safety signs due to their durability and lightweight design. Our Plastic 1mm option is lightweight and durable, providing waterproof qualities. It is suitable for both indoor and outdoor use. Fixing holes can be drilled in the plastic at no additional cost.
We take pride in being the inaugural online sign manufacturer in the UK to present our complete product line of health and safety signs and general signage in 50% recycled plastic. Our new 3mm waterproof recycled plastic, which is bright white in colour, is suitable for both indoor and outdoor use and is more eco-friendly compared to traditional rigid plastic. It possesses the same surface qualities as rigid and foamed plastic but incorporates a lighter recycled foam PVC centre. Furthermore, this material is 100% recyclable and offers an exceptional printing surface for various signage applications. You have the option to drill fixing holes or use foam adhesive pads on the back for mounting the signs.
Aluminium Composite
Our Metal Signs, constructed from Aluminium Composite (Dibond Signs), are specifically crafted for outdoor usage. The aluminium composite consists of a non-aluminium core bonded between two thin sheets, resulting in a sturdy and weather-resistant sign. We utilize 3mm thick composite aluminium, sourced from ALUPANEL in Britain. This material is produced from at least 80% recycled materials and is completely recyclable. It can be easily drilled to install holes, and we provide pre-drilled holes upon request at no extra cost. Dibond signs are well-known for their durability and long lifespan, making them a fantastic option for outdoor signage.
Foamex
Foamed Plastic Signs, or Foamex, are a popular choice for temporary construction site safety boards. This material is durable yet lightweight, weatherproof, and specifically designed for outdoor signage. Our foamex is 3mm thick and has a white matte finish.
Correx
Fluted Polypropylene, also known as Correx, is designed for temporary signage, especially in the construction industry. It offers a cost-effective and lightweight solution for short-term signage needs.
Banners
Here are the details about our banner options:
Standard and Premium Banner Materials
We offer a standard 440gsm PVC Banner, which is lightweight, weather-resistant, flame-resistant, and has a gloss finish. It is suitable for indoor and short-term outdoor use.
- Our Premium 510gsm Extra-Strong PVC Banner is designed for higher tear resistance and durability. It is weather-resistant, suitable for indoor and long-term outdoor use, and meets UK and European fire safety standards. It has a satin finish.
Mesh Banner Material
- The 260gsm MESH Banner is perfect for windy areas, as its perforated design allows wind and some light to pass through, preventing ripping.
All our banners are printed with high-quality, eco-friendly UV inks. They are hemmed and eyelet for easy fixing, and cable ties are provided at no extra charge.

Frequently Asked Questions About Construction Site Signs
What are the required safety signs for a UK construction site?
Under Health and Safety Executive (HSE) guidelines and the Construction (Design and Management) Regulations (CDM 2015), building sites must prominently display a mix of mandatory signs (e.g., "PPE Must Be Worn"), prohibition signs ("No Unauthorised Access"), hazard warnings ("Danger Construction Site"), and clear fire exit route markers. Our multi-message site safety boards combine all these necessary warnings onto a single layout.
Which sign material is best for temporary scaffolding and building sites?
For temporary construction environments, Fluted Polypropylene (Correx) and Foamed Plastic (Foamex) are highly recommended. Correx is incredibly lightweight, waterproof, and easily attached to scaffolding grids or fencing using cable ties. For longer-term development projects or hoarding displays, we suggest upgrading to rigid plastic or durable aluminium composite (dibond) panels.
Do you offer bulk trade pricing for large construction projects?
Yes, we specialise in supplying trade accounts and major contractors across the UK. The Safety Sheep Store offers bulk trade discounts of up to 35% on multi-packs and volume orders. All our building site signs are proudly manufactured in our Yorkshire facility, allowing us to pass direct factory savings straight to your project budget.
